Step inside a gothic Victorian mansion and experience Gilded Grandeur this holiday season! The Danville Historical Society invites you to its 53rd Annual Holiday Tour on Saturday, December 12, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Inspired by the Sublett-Miller Mansion on Main Street, the Gilded Grandeur tour celebrates the craftsmanship, character, and stories preserved within Danville’s historic buildings. From this striking Victorian Gothic residence to the Yancey House, a welcoming haven for Black travelers during the Jim Crow era, to a newly restored boutique hotel, and an elegant historic theatre, discover how thoughtful renovations have carried treasured places into the 21st century while honoring the architectural details and history that make each one distinct.
Join us for a festive afternoon of history, preservation, and holiday beauty as we explore the people and places that continue to shape Danville’s story. Additional tour and ticket information will be announced as it becomes available.

A unique Renaissance Revival home built from plans purchased at the 1876 Philadelphia Exposition; Red Grove is Danville’s only Danville’s only Y-shaped house.
Our fourth site is located at 124 Chestnut Street.
A charming Victorian cottage brought back from the brink of ruin by the current owner, this colorful home has loads of charm and stories galore.
Our fifth site is located at 931 Green Street.
One of the oldest homes in Danville, this antebellum home was originally a two-over-two structure built on the vast estate one of Danville’s early medical doctors, Dr. Nathaniel Terry Green.
Our sixth site is located at 871 Main Street.
This grand brick Gothic church dates to 1882 and is the home of the second oldest congregation in Danville.
Our seventh site is located at 278 West Main Street.
This 1922 duplex was modeled after a design by architect J. Bryant Heard and was built on land that was once part of “Ficklen’s Field.”
Our eighth and final site is located at 284 West Main Street.
